At Market Veep we want to do more than say a few words about giving. We believe kindness should be woven throughout our fiber. For this reason, we began our 50x52 program.
This month, we chose 5 incredible causes, personally picked and meaningful to our team, that we could support by donating $50 to each organization throughout the month. (We do this every week of every month! That’s where we get the 52 😁) Explore each of these great charities and how you can join us in doing more than saying a few words.
The Mayfly Project
Mission: The Mayfly Project is a 501(c)(3) organization that uses fly fishing as a catalyst to mentor children in foster care. Our mission is to support children in foster care through fly fishing and introduce them to their local water ecosystems, with a hope that connecting them to a rewarding hobby will provide an opportunity for foster children to have fun, feel supported, and develop a meaningful connection with the outdoors.
The Mayfly Project gives foster children mentoring, self-esteem, smiles, and respect for the environment by teaching kids fly fishing. This valuable skill will give these kids a rewarding hobby throughout their lives. They get to have fun, build confidence, and develop a meaningful connection with the outdoors. Using mentoring, conservation initiatives, and other projects, the whole community benefits - not just the foster children. Supporters of the program can also get involved by attending events or becoming mentors.
The Mayfly Project was selected for the 50x52 program by Mollie, a Senior Strategist at Market Veep. “I picked the Mayfly project because they benefit children in foster care in my local area. Not only do they give them the resources and knowledge they need fly fish, but they also help the participants understand the importance of environmental stewardship.”
We all know the maxim: "Teach a man to fish..." Our donation (and yours) will help them for the rest of their lives, not just a single day!

K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD and other traumas. Using the bond between the dog and the vet, they are determined to end veteran suicide. The majority of the dogs come from high-kill rescue shelters. This innovative program creates a better and longer life for both the veteran and the dog. They get to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery. A gift will help save a Warrior and rescue a dog. That’s two lives worth saving!
Appalachian Mountain Club - Lonesome Lake Hut
Mission: Everything we do is driven by our goal of protecting our natural resources and outdoor experiences. Our overarching priorities include trail stewardship, understanding and addressing climate change, and land, air, and water protection in the Northern Appalachian Mountains and other priority areas of the region.
Dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the outdoors, the Appalachian Mountain Club provides education, safeguards, rest stops, and more. Conservation is in their roots. AMC is actively engaged in conservation and research across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. Their crew executes conservation projects and tends over 1,800 miles of trails. The Lonesome Lake Hut is just one of the many environmentally sustainable shelters available along the trails they tend, available to offer hikers a safe, clean, and comfortable place to stop and rest.
The advantages are endless. Leading the way for a more sustainable future, we are donating so everyone can enjoy nature for decades to come.

Beacon Center
Mission: To empower individuals and families of abuse to achieve self-responsibility and initiative through advocacy and support and to educate and motivate the community to move toward our vision of eliminating abuse.
Beacon Center is ready to empower individuals & families who are victims of abuse. In 1977, a group of citizens concerned about domestic violence founded the Women’s Resource Center. They were given office space in the basement of a law office. Armed with a phone and answering machine, this group embarked on an incredible journey that continues today. Located in Watertown, South Dakota, they offer a variety of support services. Women and children can find safety, food, shelter, legal help, and more. They educate, advocate, and motivate - and so we donate! You can too!

Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
Mission: The mission of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services, and education to individuals, families, and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.
Alzheimer's Foundation of America: Help for today. Hope for tomorrow. Dedication to compassionate care. Commitment to innovation, diversity, education, and research. And a culture of collaboration and philanthropy. AFA was founded in 2002 by a caregiver whose mother lived with Alzheimer’s disease from 1980-1992. At that time, there was little information available and nowhere to turn for support. His goal was to make sure that no other family living with Alzheimer’s disease would have to go through the journey alone. This dedicated organization provides support, services, and education to individuals, families, and caregivers today! And research for treatments & cures tomorrow! We give today for a better tomorrow!
