It really is a privilege to have the opportunity to give our support. As you read, we know you will be inspired to support them, too.

This month’s wonderful organizations are all very deserving of a donation. The National Alliance to End Homelessness, Rachel’s Gift, Operation Troop Support, Appalachian Trail, and Paws With Cause each uplift and serve their community in extensive ways.

The National Alliance to End Homelessness

Mission: The National Alliance to End Homelessness is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to end homelessness in the United States. We use research and data to find solutions to homelessness; we work with federal and local partners to create a solid base of policy and resources that support those solutions; and then we help communities implement them.

End Homelessness

The National Alliance to End Homelessness is an outcome-driven organization. Starting with the name and continuing with how they choose the work they do, allocate staff time, and use resources they focus on one thing: ending homelessness! The mission is what drives their every decision. And it is how they measure their impact.

How do they do this? By following these principles:

  • Build Knowledge: using research and data to discover what works to end homelessness.
  • Improve Policy: educate opinion leaders and policymakers about solutions that work.
  • Enhance Capacity: helping communities implement solutions including training, technical assistance, and tools.

As you can see this organization is driven, determined, and dedicated! With a belief that they can accomplish their mission, we fully support them. Check out their website to learn more about their work and what we all can do to end homelessness.

Rachel's Gift

Mission: No parent should suffer the loss of a baby alone. We are devoted to validating each child's life. Our purpose is to lend guidance on the path to healing. Most of us at Rachel's Gift have walked a similar journey, and we don't want you to walk alone. We are here for you.

Rachels Gift

Since 2008, Rachel's Gift was created to collaborate with hospitals to provide specialized bereavement care for parents who lose a child to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Providing Keepsake Boxes that include our angel bear, a handmade blanket for swaddling, options to capture handprints and footprints, and burial gowns. These keepsakes are a physical lifetime connection to the child that was only in a parent’s arms a matter of minutes or hours. They also facilitate support groups and partner with hospitals to offer follow up care and community events. This organization supports many at their most vulnerable time of need.

Operation Troop Support

Mission: Operation Troop Support has FIVE missions: Sending care packages to our deployed troops; Supplying our military hospitals both state side and abroad with much needed comfort items; Spearheading an extensive holiday gift wrapping and distribution program to our military forces; Coordinating a regional military family support group program; and Generating a public awareness of the sacrifices and needs of the soldiers and their families.

Operation Troop Support

Operation Troop Support is an entirely volunteer run organization that relies on fundraisers and donations to operate. The focus of their efforts goes to care packages to troops, family and veteran support, and community partnerships. All funds received go to meet postage expenses and other organizational programs that help support deployed troops and their families. They  couldn't make the impact they do without donations - either items to fill care packages or to help fund the postage. They are always grateful for any your support!

Appalachian Trail Conservancy

Mission: The Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s mission is to protect, manage, and advocate for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Appalachian Trail Conservancy

The Appalachian Trail is a place of life-changing discovery. They believe everyone should have the opportunity for that experience, which is why they want to ensure the Trail remains protected for the long haul. Obstacles arise every day that threaten the Appalachian Trail.  Established in 1925, they oversee the protection and management of the world’s longest hiking-only footpath, the Appalachian Trail. The ATC is largely funded by its more than 42,000 members and over 600,000 supporters located throughout all 50 states and in more than 15 countries. That support ensures that the one-of-a-kind A.T. hiking experience is protected from development, increasing use of the outdoors, and other dangers. As we donate and support we are joining forces with this extensive organization and providing a long-lasting contribution toward one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Paws With A Cause

Mission: Paws With A Cause® enhances the independence and quality of life for people with disabilities nationally through custom-trained Assistance Dogs. PAWS® increases awareness of the rights and roles of Assistance Dog Teams through education and advocacy.

Paws with a Cause

PAWS Service Dogs are custom-trained to assist people with physical disabilities. Service Dogs can enhance a person’s independence by helping with tasks such as pulling a wheelchair, opening doors, turning light switches on/off, or picking up objects as small as a dime. If a client falls, the dog can even act as a brace to help them up. But they don’t stop there. These dogs are trained to help people with all types of disabilities such as hearing loss, seizures, and even those with autism. And if that isn’t enough, Facility Dogs, are working dogs specifically trained to help more than one person in facilities like schools or hospitals. Unlike assistance dogs that serve one person, professionally trained facility dogs work with a trainer or handler to serve multiple people who need social interaction, recovery motivation, comfort, and/or a feeling of safety. As you can see this organization reaches many, many individuals with all the many types of support dogs it trains.
